Summoned up in a single word: Grotty.

Utterances of late (at the tail-end of 2013)

December 11, 2013

14 November: (While watching the washing machine) “And the clothes go wiggle piggle piggle! And the clothes go hakka makka pakka! And the clothes go AAAHH!”

“I’m coming to get you! Can I got tickle-tickle-tickle?”

She isn’t but she claims she’s having a poo. After thinking about it carefully, she says: “It’s okay to wee and poo.”

20 November: She doesn’t like my unshaven kiss. “You’ve got spikes.” “It’s stubble.” “You’ve got spikes and double.”

3 December: I pick her up to change her nappie. She gasps in admiration at me: “What a strong baby!”

She’s scratching her bum. “Do you need the loo?” “Not a problem, mummy!”

6 December: (About to set off in the car) “We’re going to Troston.” “Can I play with the animals and cars?” “Yes.” “Special treat animals! Special treat cars!” (Turns to print of Matisse’s Dance) “Special treat spinning around!”

The Wheel

December 5, 2013

A gerbil on a wheel was the highlight of Rowan’s day, if not week. I tried to explain that we’d just finally sold the house, but my words fell on stony ground. Here are a couple of gerbil poses.
